What was interesting about this trip was the fact that we overlapped for a full day with the DAguillo/Walsh men in Yosemite valley. This meant that Brodie would meet my family… this cannot be good.
We started out with a grotesquely expensive dinner in the “grand Yosemite hotel” (or whatever it is called – I was staying in Curry Village ) . followed the next day by a hike to Taft point and the fissures (3000 ft drops are always interesting). We did well despite the smoky conditions.
After a brief visit to Glacier point (more smoke), Rob, Robert and Mike headed to do the Panorama trail, while Brodie, Tony and I drive back to the valley.. Once in the valley, we left Tony and headed up the Mist Trail to Vernal falls. It never disappoints. After a relaxing time on the Silver Apron, the 3 intrepid travelers emerged and we headed down, for a great meal at the Curry Village cafeteria (at a 10th the cost).
An awesome start
