Joshua Tree National Park – escape to the desert

After a few days in LA, it was time to hit the road and visit the desert. Amy offered a trip to Joshua tree National Park (http://www.nps.gov/jotr/index.htm).

I do love the desert , and this did not disappoint… After many hours of highway driving, we arrived at the park. It offers excellent hiking opportunities , but its real claim to fame is the bouldering (which we did not partake in). In fact, with Anna and Amy there, it turned into a photo shoot again…. Loved it.

We did the excellent Hidden Valley hike – http://www.hikespeak.com/trails/hidden-valley-in-joshua-tree/ (many climbers), followed by the Keys view overlook (http://www.hikespeak.com/trails/inspiration-peak-joshua-tree/), and then a quick scramble up “Cap Rock”. So great to be in the desert, in the sun, trying to not burn. Loved it
