After Weirs beach, NH, it was nice to get a calmer New England experience. Anna, Amy and I headed to Vermont (Matt had headed back to NJ to work the weekend).
We started out thru mid-state Vermont, with the town of Woodstock and also Quechee Gorge.
After that, we arrived at our destination. Stowe is a classic Vermont town, with lots of nature, quaint downtown, and even a white steeple Church. We stayed at a nice B&B called Fiddler’s Green Inn. Amy and Anna loved it .
We had Friday afternoon and then all day Saturday to explore. We did a nice vertical hike to a lake called sterling pond at smugglers notch.
We also did 2 waterfalls, complete with swimming. Glenn Moss falls, and Bingham Falls. The hikes and waterfalls were the best part of the day.. (There was also shopping and eating, but that does not warrant a mention).
On Sunday, we headed home, but this time not thru Connecticut, but instead across Lake Champlain, and down NY thruway. A long day of driving.
