April 4 – Yosemite Day 3 – Hike Mirror Lake

Mirror lake is actually the Tenaya creek, which flows down Tenaya canyon (no hiking allowed) , below Cloud Rest and the left shoulder of Half Dome, until it joins the Merced River in Yosemite Valley. ?? ??The “lake” is actually a pond, a widening of the creek, but it provides (in the spring) really nice mirrored views of the surrounding mountains and cliffs. ?? ??W

we had a nice 4 or 5 mile hike past the looming Half Dome. ??it was nice to find a valley-based hike that I have not yet done. ?? and it was essentially rather easy (thereby avoiding a most certain mutiny). ?? ??

Hey I think you’ve got me beat – I never have gone to Mirror lake. Always been either dry or extremely low. But then I haven’t been in winter/spring time. And the double-damn-you-brodie…..that’s awesome! Thank you Amy and Anna! And Damn You Mahler (that’s for Don).
